Responsibilities
As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying various finishes to residential, commercial or other properties. Your duties may include:
- Preparing, cleaning and sanding surfaces before painting.
- Repairing cracks, holes and other surface imperfections.
- Mixing paint to achieve the required colour and texture.
- Measuring, cutting and applying wallpaper and other fabric materials to walls.
- Advising customers on colours, finishes and wall-covering options.
- Applying paint, wallpaper and other materials to interior surfaces.
- Applying paint and finishes to exterior surfaces.
- Estimating the required costs and materials for painting projects.
- Preparing work areas before starting painting or finishing work.
- Ensuring surfaces are properly prepared for a smooth and durable finish.
- Following workplace safety procedures and proper handling practices.
- Completing assigned painting and finishing work efficiently and professionally.

Requirements
Experience
- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience as a painter or in a related painting trade.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Good English communication skills.
- Experience preparing, cleaning and sanding surfaces.
- Ability to repair cracks, holes and other surface imperfections.
- Ability to mix paint according to required colours and textures.
- Ability to measure, cut and apply wallpaper and other wall coverings.
- Knowledge of painting and finishing techniques for interior and exterior surfaces.
